Wet cough is a cough accompanied by a varying amount of sputum of different shapes and sizes, and can be heard with a phlegm sound when coughing, often seen in pneumonia and chronic bronchitis. The diagnosis of novel coronavirus pneumonia is confirmed by the presence of a dry cough, fever, and malaise, in addition to the characteristic features of blood counts and lung CT, plus an epidemiologic history. The diagnosis is established by a final positive nucleic acid test or gene sequencing result.
