What does reactive cell change mean?

If there are reactive cell changes during the cervical examination, the patient is considered to have cervicitis. Cervicitis is a local inflammatory change caused by infection of the cervical area with bacteria and other pathogens, which may result in reactive cell changes during the examination. For mild cervicitis, appropriate oral medications or topical medications may be considered. For patients who are not well treated with topical medication, especially in moderate cases, physical therapy such as laparoscopy, laser, microwave, etc. is the treatment of choice.
