A little pain at the back of the ear may be associated with contact dermatitis, insect bite dermatitis, and secondary infection of auricular papilloma if there is no clear trauma.
1. Contact dermatitis: often after contact with irritating chemical or biological substances behind the ears, acute inflammation occurs at the site of contact, and a tingling sensation is often seen in the early stages of the disease.
2. Insect bite dermatitis: when bedbugs bite behind the ears, a few hours can appear as a pimple and itching, lesions in the center of the pinpoint-sized petechiae, blisters, large erythema or purpura, accompanied by intense itching and pain. Some patients who are bitten on the back side of the ear, after the papules and erythema subside, there may be residual mild earache.
3. Auricular papilloma secondary infection: if the back side of the auricle is infected by human papilloma virus and papilloma grows, the surface of the swelling is rough and uneven, hard to touch, secondary infection, the affected area may have pus, earache.
When there is a little pain at the back of the ear that persists unrelieved or recurs, it is necessary to actively consult a doctor for a systematic examination in order to make a clear diagnosis.
