A foreign body sensation for more than a year is not necessarily esophageal cancer. Chronic pharyngitis, chronic esophagitis and other diseases may cause foreign body sensation in throat.
1. Esophageal cancer: Early stage is mostly atypical, which often manifests as discomfort, burning sensation or pain behind the sternum (pins and needles or tugging pain), foreign body sensation or friction sensation locally when food passes through, and slow, stagnant or mild obstructive sensation when swallowing food. In the middle and late stages, the symptoms are mainly dysphagia, reflux, pain and so on.
2. Chronic pharyngitis: patients with chronic pharyngitis often have symptoms such as sore throat, dry and itchy throat, cough and foreign body sensation in the throat.
3. Chronic esophagitis: common symptoms include acid reflux, heartburn, chest pain, hiccups or belching, foreign body sensation in the throat, dental lesions, etc. There are also patients with esophagitis reflux-induced epiglottis symptoms, such as a feeling that the pharynx is always blocked by a foreign body.
Foreign body sensation in the throat may also be caused by other factors, relying on this symptom is not enough to determine. Foreign body sensation in the throat for a long time should be timely consultation, so patients can not delay, should go to the hospital as soon as possible to find out the cause of the disease, the cause of treatment.
