Inhaled ICS + LABA therapy, dose must be individualized

There is no doubt that the use of long-acting ICS and LABA combination inhalers has led to smoother control and fewer acute exacerbations in COPD patients, improving the quality of survival. However, some patients’ arbitrary discontinuation or dose reduction, or inadequate inhalation doses given by clinicians, can lead to recurrent poor disease/control. Depending on the degree of lung function, the number of acute exacerbations, and the control of disease and complications, patients should be given more individualized inhalation doses to better stabilize lung function and reduce the number of acute exacerbations!
