Cerebral palsy can have the following symptoms depending on the clinical subtype: 1. Spastic quadriplegia The cone system is mainly damaged, including the cortical motor area. This type is characterized by hyper-retractile reflexes. Increased muscle tone in the limbs, dorsiflexion, inversion, internal rotation of the upper limbs, inversion of the thumbs, forward flexion of the trunk, inversion, internal rotation, crossover, knee flexion, scissor step, pointed foot, inversion of the foot, arching of the back, hyperactive tendon reflexes, ankle clonus, folding knife sign and cone bundle sign, etc. 2.Spastic diplegia The symptoms are the same as those of spastic quadriplegia, mainly showing spasticity and dysfunction of both lower limbs more than those of both upper limbs. 3.Spastic hemiplegia The symptoms are the same as those of spastic quadriplegia, but the symptoms are manifested in one limb. The most obvious feature of this type is asymmetrical posture, involuntary movements of the head and limbs, i.e. a lot of redundant movements when performing a certain action, and the limbs and head keep swaying, making it difficult to control oneself. This type of muscle tone may be high or low, and may change with age. Tendon reflexes are normal, extrapyramidal signs TLR (+), ATNR (+). Hypotonia at rest. Ataxia is mainly caused by damage to the cerebellum, the conus system and the extrapyramidal system. The main characteristic is uncoordinated movement due to motor sensory and balance sensory impairment. In order to obtain balance, the feet are far apart from each other, the gait is staggering, and the directionality is poor. The movement may be clumsy and uncoordinated, with intentional tremor and nystagmus, impaired balance, standing with the weight on the heel, wide base, drunken gait, and body stiffness. Muscle tone may be low, motor speed is slow, head movement is low, and separation movements are poor. The eyes closed and difficult to stand sign (+), finger-nose test (+), tendon reflexes are normal. 6.Mixed type with characteristics of more than two types.
