When can I exercise after surgery

The duration of post-operative exercise is analyzed depending on the patient’s surgical procedure and recovery from the condition. If the patient undergoes a relatively small surgery, such as the removal of superficial soft tissue masses, the recovery after surgery is generally faster in this case, and the complete recovery of the local wound takes about 2-3 weeks or a month. It is safer and more reasonable to rest for a month after surgery before exercising. If a patient has undergone intra-abdominal surgery, such as appendectomy, cholecystectomy or inguinal hernia repair, it is more reliable to rest for at least 2-3 months after surgery before performing appropriate exercise. Premature exercise may aggravate the damage to the patient’s body, causing recurrence of the original disease and delaying the recovery of the disease, so it is safer to exercise after complete postoperative recovery.
