Do you need to be vaccinated for child bites?

A child bite generally does not require a vaccination because the child is generally healthy, so there is no consideration of rabies transmission and the vaccine would not require a rabies vaccination. If the wound is deeper after being bitten by a child, there is a possibility that some bacteria may be infected. If there is a dead space within the deeper wound where no air can be seen, if there is an infection of Clostridium tetani, it may lead to tetanus, and then you can get a tetanus antitoxin. But this is a special case, in the ordinary child bite, the wound is generally not so deep, and after regular cleaning and suturing, the wound is not so infected with Clostridium tetani. The tetanus shot is not a vaccine, but an antitoxin for tetanus. Therefore, it is not necessary to vaccinate a child’s bite, only to do some disinfection of the bite wound.
