How soon can you shower after electro-acupuncture

It is best to observe for 24 hours after electro-acupuncture without any obvious discomfort before taking a bath.
Electroacupuncture refers to the acupuncture therapy of traditional Chinese medicine coupled with electric shock stimulation, which can enhance the stimulation of acupoints and achieve better therapeutic effects.
However, some patients cannot tolerate it and may experience needle-sickness reactions such as dizziness, nausea, pallor, palpitations (rapid heartbeat, often accompanied by panic), profuse sweating or even fainting. It may be caused by excessive tension, hunger and labor, and too much intensity of electro-acupuncture stimulation.
The above situations can occur during the needling process or after the end of needling, called delayed reaction. Therefore, after electroacupuncture, it should be observed for 24 hours without obvious discomfort before going to take a bath.
If the patient’s reaction to needlestick fainting can not be self-relieved, but rather aggravated, should immediately consult the doctor to avoid delaying the condition.
