TPRK is a refractive keratomileusis procedure called trans-epithelial excimer laser refractive keratomileusis. The procedure involves cutting the corneal epithelium with an excimer laser and then ablating the corneal stroma with an excimer laser, changing the refractive state of the cornea in this way, so it is an all-laser procedure, and the results are still relatively ideal. However, with the application of femtosecond technology, this surgery has been gradually replaced by full femtosecond laser surgery, which is relatively less invasive and therefore more effective.
