Paeoniae Radix Tang is composed of Paeoniae Radix, Angelica Sinensis, Mullein, Glycyrrhiza glabra, Rhizoma Coptidis, Betel nut, Rhubarb, Scutellaria Scutellariae, and Guan Gui. It has the efficacy of clearing away heat and drying up dampness, regulating Qi and harmonizing the blood, and is mainly used for treating dysentery caused by Damp-Heat of the Large Intestine, with good efficacy for abdominal pain, pus and blood in stools, anxiousness in the stomach and afterward, a feeling of incomplete evacuation of the bowels after stooling, and burning of the anus.
Slow Attack Tang is composed of Rhubarb, Citrus aurantium, Betel nut and Paeonia lactiflora, and can treat dysentery caused by damp-heat in the large intestine.
Huanglian Hongqu Tang is composed of Scutellaria baicalensis, Huanglian, white peony, tangerine red, roasted licorice, red quatrefoil, Citrus aurantium, Jianlian, and Shengma, which is effective in clearing away heat and drying up dampness, and relieving dysentery by promoting circulation of Qi and stopping dysentery, and can treat dysentery caused by damp-heat of the large intestine.
