The white head on top of the small red spot on the face of a newborn is a sign of a rash secondary to bacterial infection and is diagnosed as impetigo. The main treatment is to strengthen the skin care and on top of that apply topical ointment with anti-inflammatory effect, such as Bactrim ointment or erythromycin ointment. The way to strengthen skin care is to control the room temperature not too high, too wet, the temperature control at 24-26 ℃, humidity control at 30%-40% is more appropriate, and keep the skin clean, dry. Use a medical cotton swab dipped in Bactrim ointment or erythromycin ointment to apply on the rash with white spots 2-3 times a day, avoiding the drug from entering the mouth and eyes. Remember not to use your hand or needle to squeeze or pick open the pustular rash, which can easily expand the area of infection.
