Harmful effects of angelica on the liver

There is no evidence that angelica is harmful to the liver, but long-term overdose of angelica may cause liver damage, and it is recommended to take it under the guidance of a doctor. Angelica sinensis is a blood tonic traditional Chinese medicine, which is the root of Angelica sinensis, a plant of the genus Angelica in the family Umbelliferae. It is sweet, pungent and warm in nature, and belongs to the liver, heart and spleen meridians. Angelica sinensis has the effect of tonifying and activating blood, regulating menstruation and relieving pain (regulating menstruation and relieving menstrual pain), moistening the intestines and relaxing the bowels. It is used for blood deficiency and atrophy, irregular menstruation, menstrual pain, dysmenorrhea, abdominal pain with deficiency and cold, paralysis and pain of rheumatism, bruises, and constipation of dry intestines and bowels. Adverse effects of Angelica sinensis are not clear. Caution should be exercised if the patient is suffering from dampness and fullness in the middle of the body (too much dampness leading to fullness and discomfort in the spleen and stomach), or if the patient is suffering from loose stools. If there is a need for medication, it is recommended that it be used under the guidance of a professional physician, and not blindly self-medication.
