Needle eyes, also known as wheals, are associated with excessive eye strain, poor eye hygiene leading to bacterial infections, and food allergies. Needle eyes are primarily Staphylococcus aureus infections, which clinically manifest as painful redness and swelling of the eyelid skin. The treatment suggests applying cold compresses to the eye at the beginning of the eye, and then changing to hot compresses when the eye is 48 hours old. It is also advisable to go to the hospital for relevant examination, use the D&B eye drops along with oral antibiotics, and if suppuration occurs, surgical treatment is recommended, along with good personal cleanliness and separate use of washcloths to avoid contagion.
