Nucleic acid test and antigen test currently mostly refer to the new coronavirus testing methods, the difference lies in the acquisition of different testing time, different testing methods and different accuracy rates. 1. Different testing time: Nucleic acid test mainly uses pharyngeal swabs, nasal swabs, etc. to collect samples, and the test results will take about several hours to come out; while the antigen test results usually take 10-15 minutes to come out. 2. Different detection methods: the new coronavirus antigen test is to use the principle of specific binding of antigen and antibody; while the nucleic acid test is to analyze the presence of pathogen RNA in the sample through PCR technology. 3. Different accuracy: Nucleic acid test has high sensitivity and accuracy, and is the main diagnostic basis for the new coronavirus; while antigen test is less sensitive than nucleic acid test, and false-positive reactions may occur due to environmental reasons, so it can only be used as a complementary means, commonly used in screening, and can not be used as the basis for diagnosis. When there is a difference between the results of nucleic acid test and antigen test, the results of nucleic acid test should prevail.
