If a localized hard lump is formed, it means that a localized abscess or newborn granulation tissue has been formed. After this stage, conventional conservative treatment methods, including local hot compresses or the use of antibiotic eye drops, are difficult to make the abscess disappear completely. The correct treatment should be to go to the hospital for surgery as early as possible. Surgery can release the pus completely, and the disease can return to normal, so this disease can be treated. Surgery is a very minor outpatient procedure where an incision is made on the surface of the abscess and the pus is drained out, allowing the disease to return to full normalcy within a week or so. Therefore, if a wheal exists in the eye and a localized abscess has formed, it is recommended to go to a regular hospital for surgical treatment as early as possible, and not to refuse treatment because of fear of surgery, which may make the condition worse.
