Congratulations on the successful graduation of the second ultrasound in two IUI twin patients!

Many patients can be confused between IUI and IVF, thinking that they are the same. In fact, they are not the same thing. Today, we will give you another brief introduction to the difference between artificial insemination and IVF. Artificial insemination is an assisted reproductive technology that uses non-coital means to deliver sperm into the female reproductive tract to conceive, and is divided into two types of artificial insemination (husband’s semen) and artificial insemination by donor sperm (sperm bank semen) according to the source of semen. Artificial insemination is suitable for which cases: 1. abnormal semen (mild or moderate oligospermia, weak spermia, semen non-liquefaction, etc.); 2. sexual intercourse disorder due to sexual dysfunction or reproductive tract abnormality; 3. ovulation disorder, endometriosis not conceived by simple drug treatment; 4. unexplained infertility; 5. immune infertility; 6. azoospermia, etc. The cost of each artificial insemination is about 0.2 million, and the success rate is about 10-15%. IVF is the common name for in vitro fertilization and embryotransfer (IVF-ET), which is the process of removing the egg and sperm outside the body, allowing the egg and sperm to be fertilized outside the body to form an embryo, and then transferring the embryo to the uterus to develop into a fetus. What are the conditions for IVF: 1. gamete delivery disorders caused by tubal factors in the female (bilateral tubal obstruction, tubal resection, loss of tubal function, etc.); 2. ovulation disorders (e.g. polycystic ovary syndrome, unruptured luteinized follicle syndrome, etc.); 3. endometriosis infertility despite conventional drug or surgical treatment; 4. oligo-, oligo- and teratozoospermia in the male; 5. immune infertility and 6. chromosomal abnormalities in the male or female partner (Roche translocation, balanced translocation, etc.); 7. single gene genetic diseases that can be genetically diagnosed (deafness, thalassemia, etc.). The cost of each IVF is around 20,000 to 30,000 and the success rate is around 50%.
