No studies have found a link between type 1 diabetes and vaccination.
Type 1 diabetes is a form of diabetes caused by destruction of pancreatic islet cells and absolute insulin deficiency. Genetics, viral infections, and exposure to certain toxic chemicals may also lead to destruction of pancreatic islet cells, which can trigger type 1 diabetes.
No association has been found between the vaccine and type 1 diabetes. It is possible that the discovery of type 1 diabetes after vaccination could be a late onset of type 1 diabetes in adults who were simply vaccinated before the point in time when the disease was diagnosed.
If type 1 diabetes is diagnosed, it needs to be treated early and for life with insulin. Regular follow-up visits to the hospital are required during treatment to adjust blood glucose and prevent complications.
