Infants with crossed eyes will disappear in a few months

Infants with crossed eyes, also known as internal strabismus, have a different time to disappear and should be analyzed on a case-by-case basis. Newborn infants may have internal strabismus, which is a physiological phenomenon, because the neural and muscular development is not yet perfect and the coordinated motor ability of both eyes is not yet stable. With the development of nerves and muscles, it will gradually stabilize after 3 months of age. If your baby still has internal strabismus at 6 months of age, you should go to the ophthalmology department of a regular hospital in time for a comprehensive examination by a professional doctor. If the strabismus is pseudostrabismus, it is mainly caused by canthus or a wide or flat nasal bridge, so no treatment is needed. If it is a true internal strabismus, it needs to be treated with surgery as soon as possible, and the infant’s cross-eyed condition can disappear after surgery. Therefore, when an infant has crossed eyes, parents must bring him/her to the doctor in time and listen to the advice of a professional doctor to clarify the cause of the problem and then carry out targeted treatment.
