It usually takes about 3-6 months after a tibiofibular fracture to be able to get off the ground. The vast majority of tibiofibular fractures require surgical treatment, and there are generally two options for performing cut-and-replace internal fixation of the tibiofibula. The first one is to use closed fixation of intramedullary nails, which is relatively more reliable and belongs to central fixation, and can go down to the ground at an early stage, but it is necessary to hold the crutches to make the affected limb partially weight-bearing walking, and the time of walking is relatively early, and it is possible to go down to the ground in six weeks after the operation. The second type of surgery for tibiofibular fracture using a plate requires at least 3-6 months to be able to walk on the ground. In the case of tibiofibular fractures in children, walking may be possible earlier due to faster healing, but only if the fracture is clinically healed.
