What is this 1cm bulge in the mucosa of the posterior wall of the lower curvature of the stomach?

The possible causes of about 1cm bulge in the mucosa of the posterior wall of the lower greater curvature of the stomach include benign gastric tumor, gastric cancer, gastric lymphoma, gastric mesenchymal tumor and so on.
1. Benign gastric tumor: benign polyp, gastric adenoma, fibroma, lipoma, hemangioma, etc., while adenoma has certain malignant transformation possibility.
2. Gastric cancer: gastric cancer can be categorized into four types under naked eyes, in which the bulging lesions protruding from gastric cavity are called polyp type or mass type.
3. Gastric lymphoma: Gastric lymphoma is the most common extranodal lymphoma, which belongs to mucosa-associated lymphoid tissue lymphoma, and most of them are non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma with B-cell origin. Gastroscopy can show mucosal elevation, ulceration, submucosal mass and so on.
4. Gastric mesenchymal tumor: Gastric mesenchymal tumor belongs to a kind of mesenchymal tissue-derived tumor, which originates from undirected differentiated mesenchymal cells, and can be manifested as a swelling and growing submucosal mass under endoscopy, and ulcers can be formed on the surface.
It is recommended to resect the tumor under gastroscope and conduct pathological examination to clarify the nature of the tumor to avoid malignant lesion.
