What are the causes of the onset of slight bruising of the lips and nail bed?

The lips and nail bed are slightly cyanotic for the early manifestation of shock. Slight cyanosis of the lips and nail bed is caused by the increase of reduced hemoglobin in the body’s blood, which is mainly due to the lack of oxygen in the body when shock occurs. The color of the skin and mucous membranes varies with the color of the blood flow. The red color of the blood is due to the presence of hemoglobin in the red blood cells. When hemoglobin is sufficiently combined with oxygen to become oxyhemoglobin, its color is bright red; when it has released oxygen and becomes reduced hemoglobin, the color changes to dark red. The blood in the arteries and capillaries contains more oxyhemoglobin and less reduced hemoglobin, so its color is bright red, and the red color is still obvious through the thin mucous membrane and translucent nails. The skin is thicker and contains pigment, so it is white with red or slightly brown with red. Venous blood is dark red because it contains more reduced hemoglobin and less oxygenated hemoglobin, and through the skin, it appears cyanotic. Slight cyanosis of the lips and nail bed is an early manifestation of shock. The prognosis of shock depends on the severity of the disease, whether the resuscitation is timely, and whether the measures are effective. So care should take the following measures: 1, the position of shock should be taken in the concave position, the patient’s head and chest elevated 20 ° -30 °, lower limbs elevated 15 ° ~ 20 °; use anti-shock pants. 2.Keep warm. 3.Keep the respiratory tract unobstructed. Generally use nasal catheter to administer oxygen with a flow rate of 4-6L/min, and increase to 6-8L/min in case of severe hypoxia or cyanosis, or use face mask or positive pressure oxygen according to the condition. 4.Establish intravenous access as soon as possible. 5.Sedation and pain relief.
