How childhood acromegaly is caused

The cause of most cases of childhood acromegaly is still unclear, but a small number of children with the onset of the disease may be related to genetic factors, toxic exposure, nutritional disorders and other factors.
1. Genetic factors: a small number of children have a family history of inheritance, the mode of inheritance is mainly autosomal dominant inheritance, may be copper or zinc superoxide dismutase genes lead to the onset of the disease, usually in the middle-aged, the onset of the disease in childhood is relatively rare.
2. Toxic exposure: it may be due to long-term exposure to heavy metal elements, pesticides or organic solvents, resulting in certain metal poisoning or certain elemental deficiencies.
3. Nutritional disorders: It may be caused by the decrease of vitamin B1 and vitamin B1 monophosphate in the blood of the affected children.
Most of the causes of childhood acromegaly are still unclear, and children with acromegaly should be seen and treated in a timely manner to slow down the progression of the disease and improve the quality of life once it is detected.
