The Lung Gate acupoint is an extra-transverse odd point whose location is between the 2-4 anterior ribs, one on each side, and serves as a pathway for the bronchi, blood vessels, nerves, and lymphatic vessels. The right lung gate is close to the sternum and the left lung gate is slightly away from the sternum. The pulmonary veins at the pulmonary hilum are in front, the bronchi are behind, and the pulmonary arteries are in the middle. The left pulmonary hilar has the aortic arch and thoracic aortic indentation above and behind the left pulmonary hilar, and the right pulmonary hilar has the esophageal indentation behind and the odd vein groove above. Lung Gate is an important point for the treatment of bronchitis, bronchial asthma, tuberculosis, intercostal neuralgia, and heart failure, and is entered by stabbing 1-1.5 inches transversely from under the skin outward.
