If you have a cold in early pregnancy, the malformation rate is mainly based on the specific cold symptoms of the patient. If it is a persistent viral infection with high fever, it may clinically cause malformation. If it is just a sneezing or runny nose and you are fine, the rate of causing fetal malformations is relatively low in clinical practice. No matter what kind of cold you have, you have to undergo different screening tests at different times during pregnancy, such as Down’s syndrome screening first, 2D ultrasound screening, and 4D ultrasound screening between 23-28 weeks of pregnancy. Based on the ultrasound and the Down’s syndrome screening, clinical abnormalities may be considered for termination of pregnancy depending on the circumstances.
