The ancient dosage of the formula for Xiao Renewal Soup was one tael each of ephedra, fenghui, ginseng, scutellaria, gui xin, licorice, peony, chuanxiong, and almonds, one epiphyllum, one and a half tael of fenghuang, and five tael of ginger. Modern dosage should be increased or decreased by a professional physician.
Xiao Renewal of Life Tang belongs to Chinese medicine prescription, which consists of Ephedra, Fenghui, Ginseng, Scutellaria and other drugs, with the effect of dispelling wind and dispersing cold, as well as benefiting qi and blood. In this formula, Gui Zhi Tang and Ma Huang Tang are added with Fang Ji and Fang Feng to dispel wind and open the channels; Ginseng and Radix et Rhizoma Polygoni Multiflori to warm yang and benefit qi, so as to help support the positive and dispel the evil; Rhizoma Ligustici Chuanxiong to dispel the wind from the summit; and Scutellaria Baicalensis is bitter and cold, preventing the herbs from being too warm and too hot. The combination of all the herbs can benefit the vital energy and blood, dispel wind and cold.
