Prickly heat on a child’s nose is mostly due to a hot environment and can be relieved after cooling and drying treatment. If the symptoms are serious, topical medication can be used for treatment.
Prickly heat occurs in a hot and stuffy environment, where a large amount of sweat does not evaporate easily and stagnates in the sweat ducts, making it difficult for sweat to be discharged and seeping into the surrounding tissues, thus leading to the formation of prickly heat. When it is cooled down and dried out, such as using ice packs for cold compresses and keeping the skin dry and clean, most can be relieved and return to normal.
If prickly heat symptoms are more severe and accompanied by tingling and itching, they can be treated with topical medications such as glycerine lotion and glucocorticosteroids such as dianabed cream. Topical antibiotics such as mupirocin ointment can be applied if there are signs of infection.
All medications should be used under the guidance of a medical professional to avoid adverse reactions.
