Gram-positive bacilli 2+ is a semi-quantitative laboratory test result that is not sufficient to assess the severity of the disease. First of all, Gram-positive bacilli (++) in the laboratory test form generally refers to the semi-quantitative report of Gram staining of microscopic smears of bacteria, the results of which generally show the morphology of the bacteria, the number of cells per oil microscopic field of view, and Gram-positive bacilli 2+ often suggests that the amount of bacteria is not very large. However, it is not possible to deduce more clinical information from this result alone. Whether the infection is pathogenic or not, it is necessary to combine the source of the specimen in the laboratory and the clinical manifestations to make a comprehensive judgment. If the specimen comes from sterile body fluids, it is more likely to indicate pathogenic bacteria, and if the specimen comes from sputum cultures, it is generally less likely to be pathogenic. Therefore, when the laboratory test shows 2+ Gram-positive bacilli, we need to further clarify the type of causative organism, and at the same time, do more physical examination to clarify whether there are other discomforts or hidden clinical symptoms, and carry out further scientific and standardized evaluation. Avoid neglecting the disease and missing the best time for treatment, which will have a greater impact on one’s health.
