What’s the meaning of gallbladder hemisection?

Gallbladder hemisection is one of the surgical modalities of partial cholecystectomy and can be used for surgical intervention of complex lesions. When complicated lesions of the gallbladder such as adhesion at the gallbladder triangle, gangrene of the gallbladder, portal hypertension, obvious thickening of the gallbladder wall, acute inflammation, long-term chronic inflammation, and no obvious demarcation between the gallbladder and the liver bed occur, the risk of bile leakage, hemorrhage, and bile duct injuries is very high, and sometimes even threatens the patient’s life, when pursuing a total resection of the gallbladder, forcibly separating the gallbladder from the liver bed, or dissecting the gallbladder triangle. For such complex lesions, laparoscopic subtotal cholecystectomy, laparoscopic cholecystectomy and stone removal, gallbladder hemicolectomy and other cholecystectomy for complex and difficult gallbladder, or partial cholecystectomy can be chosen. For suspected gallbladder lesions, prompt hospitalization is recommended.
