Causes of low neutrophil percentage in children

The cause of low neutrophil percentage in children is due to viral infections in children. For example, if a child is exposed to influenza virus or rhinovirus, or even respiratory syncytial virus, the neutrophil percentage will be significantly lower and the lymphocyte percentage will be significantly higher, which is characteristic of viral infections. If the infection is caused by the influenza virus, the child can be treated with oseltamivir and drink warm water.
