Does the chickenpox vaccine have side effects?

Side effects of chickenpox vaccine i.e. adverse reactions usually include pain, itching, redness, swelling and hardness at the site of vaccination, fever and rash. Varicella vaccine, or live attenuated varicella vaccine, is the most effective way to prevent chickenpox. Varicella attenuated live vaccine is suitable for people over 1 year old who are susceptible to chickenpox and is a self-funded vaccine. Common adverse reactions after varicella vaccination are localized post-vaccination adverse reactions, which may include localized redness, swelling and pain. Systemic adverse reactions commonly include fever, skin rash and so on. The above side effects can usually be alleviated or subside within a few days, and rest and care can be taken. However, in the rare case of serious adverse reactions, such as persistent high fever and severe allergy, it is recommended to go to the hospital for treatment to avoid delaying the condition.
