Beautiful high heels – Beautiful burden

  Wearing high heels is a way for women to pursue beauty, and we can see women wearing high heels everywhere in our daily lives. A study of more than 700 women by the California State University Ergonomics Institute showed that more than 70 percent of women prefer 6cm-7cm high heels. Because it makes the back of the foot arch, so that the foot looks more compact, ankle, calf, thigh muscles can be taut, forming a beautiful leg line, while the center of gravity shifts forward, the chest forward, hip muscles tight, the body naturally upright. However, high heels as part of human fashion decoration, it brings aesthetic enjoyment to humans, but also has a huge impact on the human movement physiology.  Although high heels add to the beauty of the human body, which is undisputed, and from a physiological point of view, due to the heel elevation, the lumbosacral convexity increased, changing the direction of the impulse uploaded from the lower limbs, can reduce walking, running, jumping, etc. on the spinal cord and cranial concussion which is beneficial to health. But the increasing height of the heel has changed the nature of human mechanics, the adverse aspects of human health is obvious. The survey analysis pointed out that wearing high heels led to a discomfort rate of 93.6%, only 6.4% no discomfort; discomfort in the back pain is the most common for 42.3%. Discomfort parts of the foot accounted for the largest proportion of 57.4%, followed by the calf for 18.1%, the waist and other parts of 3.2% and 4.3%, the foot and calf discomfort in both parts accounted for 5.3%, foot discomfort location only in the palm, heel and toe incidence of 37.2%, 30.2%, 22.1%, respectively.  First, as the height of the heel increases, the pressure on the toe increases significantly, which, over time, can easily lead to bunion pathology foot. Calculations show that the higher the heel, the greater the pressure on the toes, the more pronounced the stress concentration in the arch. As a result, neuromas often occur in women who wear high heels.  Secondly, when women wear high heels, the increase in shoe height causes a decrease in the force of the calf triceps muscle on the ankle joint, resulting in insufficient thrust, thus reducing the range of motion of the ankle joint as the heel height increases. Long-term walking in high heels, due to the reduction of the ankle joint force, so that the normal function of the ankle joint is damaged, in order to maintain the normal function of the ankle joint, resulting in long-term pressure on the Achilles tendon position of the ankle joint and become tense, which increases the chance of sprain, serious cases will cause inflammation.  Finally, after wearing high heels, the body leaning forward to increase the gravity line out of the front boundary of the foot support, in order to maintain balance, the chest and waist must be more straight back, the waist convexity increased, the above muscles must be strengthened contraction, so that these muscles are more likely to fatigue, day after day will cause low back muscles and iliolumbar ligament strain, causing chronic back pain. For people who often stand and walk, the impact is even greater. The Harvard Medical Research Group published a study that pointed out that whether wide heels or fine heels, the pressure on the knee joint is the same, and will cause women to suffer from knee arthritis in the long run. According to statistics, women who wear high heels and often climb stairs have knee joint stress that is three times their body weight; when they wear high heels downstairs, it can increase 7-9 times.  Although discomfort in high heels is common and potentially pathogenic to the body, women still choose to wear high heels based on their love of beauty and the need to work. Therefore, we recommend that women wearing high heels should pay attention to the following points: 1, usually do not always wear the same height of high heels, so that the same part of the foot is often squeezed.  2, wearing high heels when walking should be chest and abdomen, natural and generous, and walk steadily, should not bend back, should not walk fast, not to climb the hill.  3, usually pay more attention to the maintenance of the feet, develop the habit of hot water soaking feet, and appropriate massage.  4, if you wear high heels, pay attention to the occasion, not in the usual crowded cars, or on uneven roads to avoid damage.  5, when wearing high heels with pointed toes, pay attention to have time to move your toes, so that you can soothe them and prevent the same part from being overly squeezed.  6, wear high heels walking, the heel must be moved backwards from time to time, do not because of the high heel and lead to excessive force on the toes, to give the toes a certain amount of space, even if it is very small. The toes make a strong push forward, and it does not look beautiful.
