How is three-dimensional joint movement measured?

  Three-dimensional joint measurement (Model SE-4010) Most joints in the human body are composed of two or three axes of rotation. Conventional joint angle measurement tools, such as the clinically used joint angle measuring tape, usually only measure the angle of one axis of rotation (mainly flexion/extension) of a joint, and are difficult or impossible to use for measuring the internal/external rotation of a joint.
