1. Referring to the situation within 1 week Occasionally=1`session in 1 week
2. Referring to the situation of 24-48 hours, “Occasionally” means <1 time/day, and 10 points are also given to the patient who can manage the urinary catheter completely independently.
3. Referring to the 24-48 hours situation, if the caregiver provides tools, 5 points are also given: such as squeezing toothpaste, preparing water, etc.
4. The patient should be able to go to the toilet and leave by himself. 5 points refer to the ability to do certain things.
5. Able to eat any normal diet (not only soft food), food can be made or brought by other people. 5 points means that the patient eats by himself after someone else has pinned the food
6, refers to from the bed to the chair and back. 0 points = unstable sitting, two people must help; 5 points = a strong person / skilled person / 2 people to help, able to stand
 
7. Refers to moving around in the yard, house, and can use the helper. If using a wheelchair, must be able to turn or go out on their own without help, 10 points = 1 untrained person to help, including supervision or caretaker

Overview: BI includes 10 items: eating, bed and chair transfer, grooming, access to toilet, bathing, walking on level ground, walking up and down stairs, dressing, bowel control, and urine control. Each item is divided into four levels of 0, 5, 10, and 15 according to whether or not they need help and their degree of help, with a total score of 100.
