Which acupoints are effective in removing melasma?

Chloasma belongs to the category of “face dust” and “sallow spot” in Chinese medicine, and chloasma can be treated by zygomaticos, Hegu and Sanyinjiao points, and the symptomatic treatment can generally achieve better curative effect.
Chloasma is a disease mainly characterized by symmetrically distributed brown pigment spots on the face, mostly seen in women during pregnancy and childbirth and after delivery. This disease is closely related to Yangming meridian and the three organs of liver, spleen and kidney, and the basic pathogenesis is stagnation of qi and blood stasis, and the face is not nourished.
In the treatment of chloasma using TCM meridian points, zygomaticos, Hegu, Sanyinjiao points and localized spotting area Ashi points (points with obvious acidity, numbness, distension and pain sensation) are usually used to regulate qi and blood, eliminate stasis and eliminate spots.
Acupuncture points should also be used according to the individual’s condition. For Qi stagnation and blood stasis, Tai Chong and Blood Sea points can be used; for Yin deficiency of the liver and kidney, Liver Yu, Kidney Yu, and Tai Xi points can be used; and for Spleen deficiency and Dampness, Spleen Yu and Yin Ling Quan points can be used. Pressure stimulation can be used to assist in the treatment, and millipercentrifugal needling is often used for better results.
If you need to use acupuncture to treat chloasma, it is recommended to go to the acupuncture department of a regular medical institution. Do not do it on your own to avoid risks.
