Goose bumps on the legs are often associated with localised cold or other irritation and can subside as soon as the irritation ceases. The lesions on the anterior aspect of the thighs have a similar appearance to goose bumps, but can be differentiated from goose bumps by their inability to recede and the marked keratinisation of the follicular opening.
