Why do I have goose bumps on my arms?

Goosebump-like lesions on the arms are often peri-herpetic keratoses, mainly on the extensor side of the upper arm, and are small, follicular papules that are skin-coloured, reddish-brown or brown in colour, with keratinised follicular openings that, when peeled away, reveal curly sweat hairs underneath. It is an inherited condition, consistent with autosomal dominant inheritance, and is most severe during the adolescent phase, gradually decreasing to disappear with age. It often worsens in winter or when the ambient humidity is low.
