The standard vision of a 5-year-old child is around 0.8-1.0, and a normal child should have a vision of 0.8 or higher. If a 5-year-old child’s vision is significantly lower than 0.8 or the difference in vision between the two eyes is more than two lines, it is necessary to actively go to the hospital for examination. The development of vision stops at the age of 6-7 and should reach about 1.0. If a 5-year-old child is found to have abnormal vision, there is still hope for improvement by actively correcting it and needs to go to the hospital for a dilated pupil examination, especially some children need a slow atropine dilated pupil examination. If myopia requires nearsighted glasses, the vision can be improved. In the case of farsightedness and astigmatism, higher levels may cause amblyopia, and such cases require glasses in addition to masking or instrumental amblyopia training to gradually bring vision up.
