What causes excessive sweating of the head and neck

Excessive sweating of the head and neck may be caused by physiologic or pathologic factors. Physiologic factors include well-developed sweat glands, mental stress, stimulating diets, and so on. Pathological factors include cardiovascular disease, endocrine disease, etc. 1. Physiological factors. If the sweat glands in the head and neck are more developed in itself, the head and neck will sweat more in daily life. In addition, when a person is stimulated by nervousness, excitement or anger, or when he eats spicy and stimulating food, it will cause sympathetic nerve excitement, resulting in increased sweating of the head and neck. 2. Pathologic factors. (1) Cardiovascular diseases, such as heart failure, will lead to a decline in heart function and insufficient peripheral blood supply, which in turn will lead to abnormal excitation of the autonomic nerves, resulting in the symptom of particularly heavy sweating of the head and neck. (2) endocrine diseases such as hyperthyroidism and menopausal syndrome, due to hormone secretion disorders, will make the patient’s neural regulation abnormal, resulting in symptoms of easy fever and easy sweating. In addition to the above, there are other conditions that may lead to excessive sweating of the head and neck, if physiological factors can be excluded, it is recommended to go to the hospital for examination, and follow the doctor’s instructions for timely and targeted treatment, so as not to delay the course of the disease.
