Sevoflurane is an inhalation anesthetic, a colorless and transparent liquid, volatile but non-explosive, without foul odor, which induces and maintains general anesthesia. After sevoflurane is ingested through the lungs, most of it is exhaled from the lungs in a prototype manner, and a small portion is excreted from the bile and urine. General anesthesia with sevoflurane is clinically applicable to surgeries of various ages and sites. It is especially suitable for pediatric and outpatient short and minor surgeries due to rapid induction, non-irritating effect, easy adjustment of anesthetic depth, and quick awakening. Patients with a history of allergy to halide anesthetics or a history of malignant hyperthermia in themselves and their families need to be applied with caution.
