The 0.01% atropine eye drops, which are effective in preventing myopia progression, have been studied to suggest that the main focus of low concentration atropine to slow myopia progression acts on dopamine, which inhibits the growth of scleral collagen, so the change in the eye axis is controlled and its point of action is not because of the regulation theory. Some studies have also concluded that 0.01% atropine is more effective in the 1st year of follow-up. Overall, the rationale and effectiveness of 0.01% atropine in controlling myopia are under further investigation.
