What is a uterine tumor?

Uterine tumors are uterine fibroids. Uterine fibroids are a common benign tumor in the female reproductive system, also known as fibroids and uterine fibroids, formed by the proliferation of uterine smooth muscle cells containing small amounts of fibrous connective tissue, and can be classified as submucosal fibroids, interstitial fibroids, and subplasma fibroids. Uterine fibroids are hormone-dependent tumors, and estrogen can promote growth. Symptoms of fibroids are generally related to the location, number and size of growth. Submucosal fibroids tend to cause spotting and bleeding, increased menstrual flow, and prolonged menstruation; subplasmalemmal fibroids, large tumors can lead to increased uterine size and abdominal masses; subplasmalemmal or intermural fibroids, small fibroids and small numbers, usually have no symptoms.
