Taking antipyretics does not interfere with nucleic acid testing, but taking antipyretics during a fever tends to mask the condition. When fever occurs during an outbreak, fever reducers need to be used with caution unless the temperature is high.
Most of the nucleic acid tests are conducted through throat swabs and nasal swabs, i.e., secretions from the throat or nasopharynx of the test taker are collected for testing of nucleic acid viral genetic material; taking antipyretic medication only reduces fever and does not affect the presence of the genetic material of the new coronavirus in the body.
Do not take medication on your own if you develop unexplained fever, cough, or diarrhea during an outbreak. If the patient is a patient with neocoronavirus pneumonia, taking fever-reducing medication on their own can easily mask their condition, and can unknowingly infect others and cause the spread of the epidemic.
You need to go to the hospital immediately after the appearance of fever, nucleic acid test and chest CT and other tests to determine, do not self-medication.
