The common locations of femoral pain are as follows: first, the middle part of the femur. For example, if there is an infection such as osteomyelitis in the femur, or if there is osteoporosis, there may be pain in the middle part of the femur, that is, the middle part of the thigh. Secondly, pain around the hip joint may occur, often due to osteoporosis in the femur, or bursitis or synovitis around the hip joint. In addition, ischemic necrosis inside the femoral head may also cause pain inside the hip joint. Third, pain in the medial and lateral femoral condyles may occur. This is often seen when the patient has a corresponding lesion in the knee joint, such as osteoarthritis of the knee joint, or damage to the ligaments, meniscus or cartilage, and pain in the distal femur may occur. In addition, if there is an occupying lesion in the femur, such as an osteochondroma, pain in this area may also occur.
