Are throat tumors serious?

Tumors in the throat are very serious and need to be treated with surgery as soon as they are detected. Benign tumors include polyps, papilloma, keratosis and so on. Malignant tumors can include squamous cell carcinoma and malignant lymphoma, which can cause symptoms in the throat, such as hoarseness, foreign body sensation in the throat, difficulty in swallowing and difficulty in breathing. Patients first need to go to the hospital to check the electronic laryngoscope, and if abnormal new organisms are found, local pathology should be taken first to confirm whether they are benign or malignant. If the tumor is benign, surgery should be performed immediately. If the tumor is malignant, a whole body examination should be performed, such as neck ultrasound, thyroid ultrasound, chest CT, liver, kidney and spleen ultrasound. If no metastasis is found in these ultrasounds, surgery can be performed. If there is metastasis, palliative treatment with radiotherapy or chemotherapy can be performed.
