Antimicrobial drug therapy needs to be continued after puncture of the liver abscess and can be given intravenously. Antimicrobial drugs can be decided on the basis of pus bacterial culture and drug sensitivity tests. For bacterial liver abscesses over 3 cm, puncture and drainage is usually required after liquefaction of the abscess foci. Also in liver abscesses, especially bacterial liver abscesses, antimicrobial therapy is a mandatory therapeutic measure. Before the results of bacterial culture and drug sensitivity test come out, drugs can be used empirically, and the commonly used drugs are metronidazole, ampicillin, cefoperazone and other antibiotics. When the drug sensitivity test comes out, the medication will be adjusted according to the results, so it is necessary to infuse anti-inflammatory drugs. The above drugs need to be used under the guidance of clinicians, and unauthorized use of drugs is prohibited.
