Symptoms of infectious esophagitis mainly include esophageal manifestations, oral damage, systemic manifestations, and complication manifestations.
Infectious esophagitis is mainly an inflammatory disease of the esophagus caused by bacterial, viral and fungal infections.
1. Esophageal manifestations: pain in swallowing or difficulty in swallowing, foreign body sensation in the pharynx, and even spontaneous retrosternal pain or burning sensation are often seen.
2. Oral damage: esophageal herpesvirus infection or aphthous ulcer often appear oropharyngeal herpes or ulcers. If combined with AIDS, thrush may appear, suggesting Candida infection.
3. Systemic manifestations: gastrointestinal bleeding or weight loss may occur, or nausea and vomiting, fever or abdominal pain.
4. Complications: esophageal perforation, esophageal stenosis, esophageal bronchial sinus tract formation, etc. may occur in severe cases.
