How long does the increase in body temperature last after ovulation?

The body temperature continues to rise after ovulation for about 2 weeks. After ovulation, the influence of progesterone can raise the basal body temperature by 0.3-0.5°C. This is usually used clinically as an important marker to determine ovulation. Therefore, some women use the basal body temperature method for contraception or choose this period for conception, and the temperature measurement has some significance for the diagnosis of abnormal uterine bleeding. If the temperature is monophasic during the entire menstrual cycle, the absence of ovulation during the menstrual cycle is considered. If the temperature is biphasic during the menstrual cycle, but the duration of the high temperature phase is less than 11 days, consider luteal insufficiency. If the temperature is biphasic during the menstrual cycle but the duration of the high temperature phase is longer and decreases slowly, consider luteal atrophy. It is recommended that if the above abnormalities occur, go to a regular hospital for guidance on medication and treatment.
