What is the main basis for diagnosing scabies

The primary basis for diagnosing scabies includes a history of exposure, clinical signs and laboratory findings. Comprehensive diagnosis can only be effective in confirming the diagnosis.
1. Contact history: Scabies itself is a contagious skin disease caused by scabies mite infection. Therefore, when you suspect that you have symptoms of infection, you need to first determine whether you have a clear history of contact. Direct contact or indirect contact through clothing can lead to the transmission of scabies.
2. Clinical signs: Scabies has typical skin manifestations after an attack. Generally, papules, blisters and tunnels are more likely to appear in the folds of the skin, and some patients may develop scrotal nodules, and the itching increases significantly at night.
3. Laboratory tests: After combining the history of exposure and clinical signs, laboratory tests are also needed. After tissue sampling and examination of blisters or other lesions, if objects such as scabies mites or eggs are found in them, the diagnosis of scabies can be confirmed.
After suspecting that you have scabies, you should go to the hospital for a standardized diagnosis and treatment.
