BRVO, also known as branch retinal vein occlusion, is a very common retinal vascular disease. For the treatment of this disease, the first step is to perform a systemic examination to clarify whether there are any systemic diseases, such as systemic hypertension or phlebitis, and to provide symptomatic treatment for the specific disease. For ocular diseases, the main treatment is symptomatic treatment and treatment for complications, for example, the presence of vasculitis can be treated with glucocorticoids, and the presence of macular edema can be treated with intraocular injection of tretinoin. If there is non-ischemic edema or neovascularization, retinal laser photocoagulation can be performed to prevent or promote the atrophy or regression of the neovascularization. In case of serious complications such as vitreous hemorrhage or retinal detachment, vitrectomy is recommended to avoid further worsening of the condition.
